Jazz

Jazz is a performance dance technique thatincorporates many styles of movement. Students can work towards completing ‘Jazz Moves’ examinations with ATOD. The syllabus includes cardio warm ups, stretching, floor and corner work, turns, kicks, jumps, historical steps, and modern, energetic combinations etc.

Commercial Jazz

This class combines many styles of jazz and hip hop to produce an energetic personal style. Think: Music Videos. This is a perfect class for the casual dancer or as an extension to a jazz class.

Hip Hop

This is street dance at its best. Classes involve isolations, turns, freezes, tricks, tutting, floor work and performance styles whilst learning choreography to up to date modern songs.

Classical Ballet

Ballet is a system of dance based on formalized movements and positions of the arms, feet, and body designed to enable the dancer to move with the greatest possible agility, control and grace. Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including jazz and classical ballet. Originally, "contemporary dance" referred to the movement of new dancers who did not want to follow strict classical ballet and lyrical dance forms.

Tap

Using metal plates on the soles of shoes, tap dance creates rhythmical sounds and teaches timing, musicality and creativity. The ATOD tap syllabus was co-created by former members of ‘Tap Dogs’ and includes traditional tap techniques along with modern combinations to help develop rhythm and coordination.

Acrobatics

Incorporates gymnastic movements encouraging strength, flexibility, balance, limbering and tumbling both individually and with partners. We offer a very safe syllabus based on skill progression, where students have the option for sitting exams with Acrobatic Arts.

Musical Theatre

Combine singing with movement and character development. This is the true 'triple threat' class. Students learn vocal control to allow confident singing whilst dancing. Lessons incorporate current and classic musicals and is a fun way to develop performance skills.

We currently run under 8, under 12 and under 15’s performance teams. These teams are designed as an extension for the dancer who wishes to further their technique and stage experience. Early Childhood

The Imagine Program - An exciting program developed for young children to develop movement skills through a numeracy and literacy base. Students will learn musicality and rhythm and basic dance techniques in a fun and positive learning environment.
